TweetsGiving Event Organizers
Private Group
This is a private group. To join you must be a registered site member and request group membership.
Description
This group is for organizers involved in throwing TweetsGiving Gratitude Parties. It’s a good place to celebrate successes you are having with people in other cities. Post news and questions to the group wire – if you are struggling with something, it’s likely someone in another city is dealing with a similar issue and they may be able to share their solution with you.
Contact Avi (Avi@EpicChange.org) if you still need a community group or ticketing set up for your event or if you need to be made an admin of your group. Once your event details are confirmed, remember to update your group description and send Avi the time, date, venue name and address so he can update the information in EventBright.
The ticketing widget works with Google Checkout and PayPal. However because tickets purchased with Google Checkout do not incur a percentage processing fee, please take a moment to add a line to your group’s event details encouraging guests to use Google Checkout in their purchases.
We’re still looking to expand TweetsGiving to additional cities and we need your help spreading the word. Please phone, email, tweet and give a friendly nudge about TweetsGiving to your friends and contacts with this link – http://bit.ly/tg09goglobal.
Twitter
ACCOUNTS
Consider creating a Twitter account to promote your event. Try a username like @TweetsGivingCityName. You also can abbreviate your city name to make it shorter.
HASHTAGS
This is a bit technical…
The main hashtag we’ll be using is ”#TweetsGiving”. Tweets with that tag will be aggregated in a search on the TweetsGiving website during the week of the event.
If you’d like to use a unique hashtag for your event I recommend using the format ”#TweetsGiving.CityAbbreviation” so that tweets from your event are still captured in the overall search. For example, ”#TweetsGivingNYC” will not show up in a twitter search for ”#TweetsGiving” while ”#TweetsGiving.NYC” with the addition of the period will.
LISTS
There are three relevant Twitter Lists you may want to follow:
A list of students (5th Grade) at Shepherd’s Junior, the school we are supporting in Tanzania.
A list of TweetsGiving city accounts. Let Avi (@MeshugAvi) know your event username and he’ll add you to the list.
A list of organizers and volunteers involved in TweetsGiving this year. In other words all of you! Let me know if you don’t see yourself. Happy to add anyone who’s helping you locally to this list as well, just let me know.
